When I did NaNoWriMo, everyone had banners under their signatures that represented their books. They were so beautiful! I thought I'd never be able to make one for my novel Hunger, but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
So, your mission, should you choose to accept it:
1. Add your site to the linky thing.
2. Design a cover for your book or a friends' and post it on your site August 31.
3. Click "like" on only three of your favorites.
4. On September 7, I will announce the winner.
If you're artistically challenged like me, don't feel overwhelmed! Click here and here for some design advice. You can also scroll down below the linky thing to see examples of banners by other writers.
RULES:
- People with the most followers on their blog always win these contests. It takes all the fun out of it. Please be fair and vote for ones that deserve it.
- Don't open an entry or vote on one just because it has a lot of likes; that's not fair either.
- Don't vote for yourself three times. That's just sad.
Here are a few examples from other NaNoers.

Count me in! So are we designing a whole cover or just a banner? :D
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! I'm in. Plus, I put a shout out on my blog. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks so much for the shout out! You can post all the links on your blog by doing blog hop.
ReplyDeleteIt's the whole cover. I knew the banners would confuse people, but I didn't have any other examples.
I've already made a cover for my NaNo'10- can I submit that? If so, do I have to link it to my blog or can I use the image hosting site that my cover is on?
ReplyDeleteThis is exciting! I love looking at everybody's covers.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteCount me in: I'm always game for fun!
best

A great comp! I love doing this in my spare time and look forward to working on a new cover!
ReplyDeleteJulia, you can absolutely submit something you've created earlier.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad people are into this. Spread the word so we can see more covers!
I saw this on Francine's blog and I never can resist a challenge, so I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble finding people's entries. When I click the links, I go to their blog, but I don't see any covers. Are they not up yet or are they getting buried in the regular blog updates?
ReplyDeleteRuth: Thanks for your interest! They'll be posted on August 31 and people will vote on their favorites until September 7.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great contest! I came here from the Festival Of Romance, thanks to Francine! :) I don't have Photoshop and my graphic software is very old, but I love playing with pictures, and designed a cover for my present WIP (Originally done for Nano.) I was going to give it some tweaks anyway, when it's done I'll post it on my Blog on the 31st.
ReplyDeleteI've visited all the blogs entered so far, but the link to 'The Character Depot' doesn't work. Not sure whose blog it is, but they might want to check it out.
Just curious, but can we do more than one cover? :D
ReplyDeleteHmm, Lori, that's a good question... I'm going to say... no. I hate to be a bummer, but if you did two, people wouldn't know which to vote on, and it might double your points. I'd love to see them both, though, and you could say which one is for the contest.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm in! I am so artistically/graphically challenged, though. Too much fun to pass up. Thanks Teralyn!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm so in! How fun. I love designing covers. :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great idea, and loads of fun! I'm in, but do remember that after August 31, I'll also have newer posts at my blog. LOL So please scroll to find the contest post, everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
This is a great blogfest!
ReplyDeleteGreat entries so far!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I'll be posting the cover I made for my latest book, which was a lot of fun to do. Thank you for hosting this fun event! :)
ReplyDeleteJennette
Hey, for some reason my #19 DayDreamer isn't working, so I signed up again. #23 DAYDREAMER. Sorry about that. If there's any way to delete #19 please do so.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog hop.
I think I might have signed up twice because I forgot about this and then remembered because I was at Madeleine's blog. Just by coincidence I posted my cover today. Talk about Serendipity. The cover I'm entering is Giving up the Dream.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like great fun. Some of the entries are already fabulous.
ReplyDeleteCan't resist this, even though I just found it today. Good luck to all! And thanks for hosting this event. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, ambitious operation, but it sounds really cool:) Although I doubt I'm up to the challenge I bet the results will be cool. Neat blog:)
ReplyDeleteChoosing only three is REALLY hard...just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really neat contest! Lots of fun.
What a COOL idea for a contest! And it was VERY hard to pick three. I'm struggling with this. Everyone did such a fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteSo sad I missed a chance to enter, but it was nice visiting everyone's blogs and voting. Lots of talent out there~
ReplyDeleteI put my entry in last night and had a lot of fun looking at all the covers as well! :) Good luck to all!
